Our purpose at CrossFit Lobo is to empower people to fulfill their ultimate potential on Earth and to live their best lives. We use fitness coaching as the vehicle to help people get there.
Because even through something as seemingly arbitrary as physical movement, you can discover a sense of confidence and power that you’ve never experienced before. When you finally feel a sense of confidence and empowerment for the first time in your life, you develop a bias for positive action that can change your life and the lives around you.
Today’s episode is about choosing how to view the world around us. Specifically, we talk about the concept of pronoia.
Pronoia is a neologism (also known as a made up word) that originated in 1982, and it is the complete opposite of what we know as paranoia.
Whereas paranoia is a fear that the world is “out to get you,” pronoia is the belief that the world is conspiring in your favor.
Why is it important to learn about pronoia?
Because it is a reminder that we get to CHOOSE how we view the world around us.
We get to choose the thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes that serve us or do not serve us.
When we let other entities and people dictate what our feelings and opinions are, we aren’t sitting in the driver’s seat of our lives. And when we aren’t actively controlling our own lives, we cannot be positive agents for change, either for ourselves or others.
The dichotomy between paranoia and pronoia shows us that we can CHOOSE how we think about the world.
The goal of today’s podcast is illustrate this choice that you have and to also encourage you to reflect on how you can shift your mindset to better improve your life.
