Whether you’re coming from a globo gym, another CrossFit gym, or somewhere else, there was a process you followed to get started. Maybe you filled out a form on their website, gave them a call, or simply walked in. From that point on, the onboarding process probably varied from gym to gym, too.
Today, we answer a commonly asked question, “What’s the best way to get started at CrossFit Lobo?”
We’ll talk about how you can first get started and what your journey will look like until the moment you decide to sign up for a membership with us.
Here’s what you can expect when getting started with CrossFit Lobo:
1. Fill out the free trial inquiry form on our website
First things first. The quickest way to get started with us and let us know you’re interested in a membership is to fill out the form at the top of our free trial inquiry page. Our free trial page has additional information you might be interested in, such as: membership benefits, reviews, class schedule, and locations.
Once you submit the form, you’ll hear from one of our staff members soon, if not that same day. You’ll receive a text message from us asking you when you’re free for an initial phone call.
What if I call 210-610-1846? For incoming calls, we have a message system set up if you’d like to leave us a message. The quickest and most common way to get started with us is by filling out our free trial form.
Can I just walk in? If we’re open for class, you can absolutely walk in. The coach running the class will be busy coaching class and will not be able to give you a tour or extensive information. However, s/he will get your contact information down on a card, and you’ll receive a text message from us later on.
2. Get on an initial phone call with us
We’ll get on a call at the scheduled time, and this is where we get to know you! We take this time to learn about your background, goals, and what you’re looking for. We’ll take the time to answer any questions you have about our memberships and the CrossFit Lobo experience.
Why do we get on a phone call? Committing to a membership at CrossFit Lobo is not a decision to make lightly. Dedicating yourself to a rigorous fitness routine is someone anyone CAN do, but that doesn’t mean our gym is a good fit for what you’re looking for. We take this time on the phone to determine if we’re a good fit for you and if you’re a good fit for our community.
With such a personalized and community-based gym, we are actually choosy about who we sign on as members, believe it or not. We are not your typical results-based gym, where we’ll just take your money, and we want to make sure you will be a good addition to our classes and community.
3. Schedule your free trial at one of our locations
At the end of our phone call, if we decide to move forward, we’ll schedule your free trial at one of our locations. From here, you’ll receive a waiver to your email to fill out prior to your free trial. You’ll also be registered for the class you scheduled, so you’ll receive notification emails about the upcoming class.
On the phone call, you may have brought up some questions and the staff member on the phone said, “Great question! Let me send you an article that answers that in depth.” If so, you’ll get links to those helpful articles via text. If you have any questions between now and your free trial, text us and let us know!
To save time before your free trial, it’s best to get that waiver signed prior to coming to the gym.
4. Show up for your free trial!
The fun begins!! On the day of your free trial, you don’t need to bring anything outside of comfortable workout clothes and a water bottle. The most important thing you want to make sure of is that you have the correct address to our location and have confirmed your class is either at the Huebner Oaks or De Zavala location.
Arrive five minute prior to class, so we can give you a quick tour and introduce you to the coach before class starts. When the hour starts, the coach will kick off the class!
Whoever is assigned to your free trial will be there to help guide you along and provide you with the support and workout guidance to ensure you have a comfortable and fun initial session at our gym.
5. Sign up!
At the end of class, your free trial guide will take you toward the new member information area, and s/he will go over information regarding membership and becoming a new member. If you have any other questions about your free trial or membership options, now is the time to ask!
At this point, you can choose to sign up for a membership. It takes a few minutes to do so, and you’ll be set to come back and start working out the next day!
